D365 - Vertical Customization outside Application suite Package/Model

Hi,

We were trying to customize or to use delegate methods in the objects by creating Package/Model without including Application Suite model. But it is not allowing us to do outside application suite model. Kindly provide solution.

    Hi Rahul ,

    Looks like you are confused with models and packages, please read https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/dev-tools/models

    For you customization you need to create new model in new package and add reference to application suite.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    I am creating new Package/Model outside the Application Suite model. I am trying to customize or to use delegate methods in the standard class which belongs to Application suite model. Is it possible to customize without referring Application Suite model.

    Kindly suggest on the same.

    If you are referring to customization as overlayring it is not possible from model that is created outside Application Suite package.  You did not mention version you are working with and it's important because in version 8.0 overlayering is not possible at all.

    If you want to extend any object from Application Suite including delegates  in your model  you have to reference Application Suite model.

    I am using Version 7.3 and I'm aware of that in Version 8.0 we can't do Over-layering

    So do you want to overlay or extend? It's not clear from your question.

    I want to Overlay (or) Customize those objects and to use delegate methods. But I Dont want to refer Application suite Model in my Package or Model. Is that possible?

    No, it is not. If you don't have a reference to Application Suite your code does not see any objects from Application Suite , so you cannot use them.
