Need Issue Items on LOT by Expiration Date not Old LOT Creation

Dear All
We are going to deploy LOT tracking with expiration date in some items.
But I face an issue that if I need system automaticly detuct quantities from lots on posting (for example on production time) , system will take old lot that was created instead of lot with oldest expiry date.
Any setup can do to take lot with oldest expiry date (not need manual selection).

Thanks
I have the same question (0)

Thanks Mr. Khushbu Rajvi.  for your reply
Actually I defined all required setup and it working normally (Lot & Expiry).
But my issue now need to take old expiry on any consumption process (for Examble, in food and beverage, I detuct ingrediant of items on posting time put this by default will take the oldest lot number regarding to creation date not expiry date).
I need use old expiry date on default consuption process.
    Thanks

To address the issue of tracking items by expiration date rather than by the creation date of the lot, you can follow these steps to ensure that your inventory management system or process is aligned with your needs. Here’s a structured approach to help you manage this effectively:

Can you share the steps you follow to consume the item? I understand it is a component in a production BOM?
If the item is consumed from a simple location that does not require picking, then you will be requested to enter the lot No. either in the components list, or in the production journal when posting the consumption. Either way, it is a semi-manual task, and Item Tracking Lines -> Select Entries prioritizes lots by the expiration date suggesting the oldest ones first.

If picking is required for the location, then oldest lots can be picked fully automatically, but this requires advanced warehouse functionality (location with directed put-aways and picks enabled). In a location card you can enable the "Pick according to FEFO" option in this case.

The system will only do that if you use FEFO, more information here - How to enable picking by FEFO - Business Central | Microsoft Learn. But I agree with Alexander, I think we need more details on your process.

    Hello All
    Thanks for your reply.
My case actually related to food and bevarage process.
I defined one item as menu item (defined as recipe on item card) and another 2 items as ingredient.
In recipe list I added that 2 ingredient items to the menu item with (explode at posting as BOM method).
In posting and when tracking ingredient items by lot with expiration, by default system take oldest lot no by creation not by expiration.
Need to take lot by expiration instead of creation.
    Thanks

    Hello,

"Pick According to FEFO" can be turned on when the location is using advanced warehouse with Directed Put-away and Pick.

The best bet is to sort the expiration date when selecting the lot no.

I think the key point here is what exactly you mean by "by default system take the oldest lot".
So you open the consumption journal and add lot numbers in the Item Tracking Lines page. Is this correct? In this page, you should see the list of lots sorted by the expiration date.
