An invoice is generted against a Sales Order to deliver to the customer. I want to know how much is the Cost of Goods Sold amount out of this Invoice amount.

For Example: There is a sales order with two items. Item A was purchased for $2 and is being sold for $3. Item B was purchased for $5 and being sold for $6. So the invoice amount becomes $9. The Cost of these two products are $7.  How can I know it?

Appreciate valuable inputs.

This depends on the inventory model you are using. There can be possibility that your purchase price has gone up.

If you mark issue transaction to receipt transaction at the time of posting receipt you will be able to know cost price later on.

    Hi SadiqQ,

Before the sales order invoice is created you can select the totals button to see the costs value of the items that you sell. The totals button gives you the margin for the whole sales order; that is, for all lines.

At the individual sales order line you can select financials-prices to see the margin per product/line.

Once the sales order invoice is posted you can make use of the 'sales analysis by invoice' Report that is available in the sales and Marketing module to investigate the cost & sales Prices and the margin made.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
