Junk Contact creation with owner as System

We have found that many junk contact records have been created in our production instance, with the owner as a system user. These records only have email-id as information and the owner is system user and no more information is filled. We have also opened a case with Microsoft related to this but their solution is also not working.

The solution provided by Microsoft is below. they suggested to turn off the auto-creation of contact. I performed the steps suggested by them but it is still happening.

please help me with this as it creates around 100+ records in a day

Thanks & regards

may I suggest you further analyze the data.

    1. Are those email addresses same or different?

    2. What is the CreatedOn time for each of those records?

    3. Is there any system jobs or SSIS packages running that is pointing to Production instance?

    Good Luck

    Thanks, Pankaj.

    1. All the email addresses are different.

    2. creation time is not fixed. It creates a record at any random time.

    3. Let me verify this.

    Hi,

Could you also verify created by, Create By (Delegate) field data for these records?

Apart from what suggested above you could also check Plugin/Workflow.

Were you able to check if there are any SSIS packages or system jobs running? Reset all service account, Application user password or credentials. Remove Create permission from contact entity for Security roles, see if you can narrow down the cause.

    Hi,

I would recommend to Reopen Microsoft case and take help from microsoft. They can view logs from backend to check more details about these contacts.

You have checked all custom workflow, OOB workflow and plugins?

Yes, I have opened a case with and looking for the same on our side as well but the record does not have any relevant information.

since it starts happening suddenly, there was no customization done during that period.

I have checked the plugin log and system job nothing there so, it is a very difficult identity if anything running in the background

As suggested, you should raise another Ticket with Microsoft.

    Good Luck
