Hi BC upgrade experts

I am importing Company to BC 18 on-repm from another instance.

"Import-NAVData : Cannot import the data because the specified file does not include the extension: name=Intelligent Cloud Base, publisher=Microsoft, version=1.0.32615.0.

we don't have this app in installion DVD Application folder.

How to proceed? That is the question. I have tried to download the app file by giving the dependency in demo AL project.

    Hello,

    Maybe this helps:

    github.com/.../4217

Do you still have access to the old environment. Maybe there are orphaned records.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Marco Mels,

I have figured it out. "Microsoft_Intelligent Cloud Base" was the included in BC 14 on prem. You can not see it in the installed or published extension list. but you can get its info using power shell as follows.

You have to unpublish the extension manually. As it is not available on BC 18 on-prem. It throws error while migrating companies from one Database to another, because of different scheme

Even though I removed the extension and then upgraded the database. It still shows the same error.

Then I extracted the extension from the base App.

    1. Intelligent Cloud Base, publisher=Microsoft, version=1.0.32615.0
    2. Business Central Intelligent Cloud, publisher=Microsoft, version=1.0.32615.0

Installed both on BC 18 on-prem to import the data. Still no success

both the database are same in term of schema. But BC 18 base version is struck with the following error message while importing company. I jave seen the table id 265 exist in both the database.

Import-NAVData : The specified file contains a table with the ID 265 that does not exist in the application database. Make
sure that you are importing data into the same application as it was exported from.

No I am started working on migrating the BC 18 solution to SAAS using cloud migration tool. But BC18.0 is not compatable with SAAS BC version. I will upgrade the solution to BC19 on premise and see if it works.

    Hi Marco Mels,

Yes I have the access to the old DB. There was some objects which were obsolete & the upgrade tool kit did not marked them for removal while upgrading from NAV 2015 to BC 14. Then I have compared modified database object with BC 14 demo objects. I have removed all the objects which were different. NO I am 200 % sure that schema is 100 percent same.

    Hi Marco Mels,

My problem discovery journey continues....:) I will try to figure it out as much as i can.

I have found another interesting thing in database comparison about th table ID 265 "Document Entry"

Microsoft has made extension of the Document Entry table in the base APP. This table also exist in the database scheme. When you do the upgrade then it throws error, beacuse the table exist in extension and in schema as well.

In BC 18 upgrade process the upgrade commend should ideally take care of this object to clean the database. which might not happing right now.

After fixing the Table id 265 in BC 14, we have re-run the upgrade process.

The next table is 338 Entry Summary No NAVW113.00 9/19/2018 12:00:00 PM.

    Lets delete it & proceed....
