Calculating a Lot Expiration Date

Posted on by 265

I have an item setup to be lot controlled

On the item tracking code, I have it set to require an expiration date

I DO NOT have require expiration date entry checked

I DO NOT have Strict Expiration Date checked

I have 1Y in the calculation.

I do a purchase order. Upon receipt, a lot number needs to be assigned - however,  no expiration date is being calculated. I am having to enter it manually.

What am I missing to get this to calculate?

Also, does it use the posting date as the base point for the calculation - in this example - posting date + 1Y

Thanks

    Hi,

I tested it with the following set up:

When you then create a purchase order and check the tracking lines, it is right, that the experation date is not calculated:

Because the expiration date will be calculated during posting of the purchase order.
The calculation is based on the document date.

You have the "Use Expiration Dates" checked i assume?  You did not mention that field explicitly or maybe you just used another name for it.
