instructions say install server & client - I don't see a distinction

Posted on by 145

I'm following the instructions for how to transfer because I'm setting up a test environment for an upgrade to 2010.  I downloaded 10_GP_ENUS_FP1_DVD_SP5.zip because I'm moving to SS 2008 R2 and read that SP5 supports R2.

When I run the setup I didn't see anything that designates server or client installs.  The transfer instruction say, "On the new computer, install a Server and Client installation of the financial application."

What did I install?  What else, if anything, do I need?

There used to be a designation between the 2 types of installations and you could select based upon where you were installing, but those options no longer exist.  The installation of version 10 from the DVD installs everything that you need for both servers and workstations - there is no longer a distinction.
