slow performance

user is filtering on a vendor name in the released products form Product information management > Common > Released products and clicks on edit (to open the item) the performance on opening this item for some vendors is extremely poor. The strange thing is that this only happens on certain vendors, other vendors don't have these problems.

Is that happening for all users? Yes putting tracer parser would be a good idea to find the culprit.

Use trace parser to find what happening behind the scene. For more information how to use trace parser please see all parts of below link:

    Hi,

Please install trace parser and take trace separately for the vendors with normal delay and the one with an extreme delay. Then make a comparison between two traces(client trace and server trace of both) and find the difference to know whether it's due to any specific case that is hitting the code causing this delay due to poor SQL design (or) more RPC calls(between client and server) (or) any customized code(post/pre event handlers).

Let us know your findings will try to help you.

The real question is whether the same vendor record is always slow or always fast to respond in which case what makes that record different  -is it the same for all users and clients?  Is the vendor record in question used intensively or rarely?

It might just be to do with different user cache, or a temporary record lock, or just heavy network traffic /download at that time.
