Default financial dimensions in Project relations

Hello,

My question is, whether it is possible in aX2012 to combine the default financial dimension values assigned to both the Project itself and the Project category??

E.G. when the Project is selected, dimensions 1, 2, 5 & 10 are assigned - and when the Project category is specified, dimension 4, 6 & 8 are also filled..

I hope someone can help!

    Hi Rasmus,

For what kind of transactions do you want to have those findims filled?

Note: At the category level there is no findim that you can define; at least not in my plain vanilla demo company. If you have this ability then it might  be the result of a system modification and I would recommend talking to the developer who created this modification whether it can handle your scenario.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you for your fast reply Ludwig!

It does not look like a customization - when I open a Project category I have the menus;  'Project', 'Cost accounts', 'Revenue accounts' and 'Dimensions' - do you only see the first 3 and not Dimensions??

And can it perhaps be something that can be enabled in the Parameters somewhere??

    BR,

    Rasmus

Oh and the transaction type is the posting of a cost invoice directly to a project via an Approval journal.

    Hi Rasmus,

Can you share some screenprints so that I can compare them with my system and how it looks like?

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

    Hi Rasmus,

Ludwig is correct, if you have the ability to select dimensions at project category level that is a system modification so your scenario needs to be address by enhancing that customization.
    Please check with a developer

    Hey Ludwig and Mauricio,

I am sorry that I did not reply back before - busy with work and Corona obstacles..

However you are both absolutely correct, that it is due to a customization that they have dimensions on their Project categories.

    Thanks for your assistance!
