Does anyone know what changes are made to the Web Client databases/installation during the Web Client SP2 install?

I have upgraded a Dynamics GP test server and GP client with the Year End tax updates (Dynamics GP SP2). Prior to upgrading the Web Client application to Service Pack 2, I am able to launch and use the current Web Client application (SP1) without any apparent issues.

I understand that the Web Client is running/interpreting the GP Client application which has been upgraded to SP2. However since there is little to no detail on what actually occurs during Web Client Service Pack install in the provided MS documentation, it is not clear on why the Web Client SP2 is required.

Below the blog have the new features included in both GP 2013 SP2 desktop and web client.
