Hi All,

While adding the vendor to another legal entity, I am getting the error,"The number sequence for vendor accounts cannot be set to Manual". Here I enclosed the error screenshot. Added to that, When I checked the "vendor accounts" number sequence in accounts payable parameters, It has configured. Please tell me how can I take it forward this issue.

    Hi Crispin,

For example, I want to add the vendor ABC to Company B from Company A.

So, Do I need to change the scope as 'Shared' in 'Vendor account' number sequence in Company B or A ? I have tried to change the scope to be 'Shared', System seems grayed out. In this Case, let me configure the new number sequence for both companies ? Please clarify this points.

    Regards,

    Hem

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I have created a new number sequence and chose the scope as 'Shared'.

When I try to map it to VendAccount, It's not showing in the lookup menu. How shall we take it forward ?

    Regards,

    Hem

"Shared" number sequence cannot be used for vendor ID (as you observe)

that sequence has to be company specific.

and yes, it cannot be a manual number sequence in the "destination" company - only one that is automatically allocated.

    Hi,

An alternative is opening logging into the company where you want to have the new vendor account setup.

Then open the global address book, find the Party id and create a new vendor account.

This does not create the record as you have it in your current company but at least it copies the address and contact details over to the new record.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Hem Shankar G,

The vendor table in AX is company specific and is not a shared table so you cannot use a shared scope for the same.

Shared scope is used for the shared tables in AX like purchase requisition

As vendor table is company specific and has a data area ID field in it you can only use the scope company for it.

You have two make a number sequence for each company with scope company and select the same in accounts payable parameters.

In case you want to create a vendor which already exist in another company use global address book to create the same vendor in another company and while doing the same change the number sequence to manual and after it is created back to continuous.

    For e.g

Company A has vendor A with code V-001

Now I want to create the same vendor in company B so I use global address book in company B and make the same vendor and give it the same code in company B also V-001 (For this change the number sequence in company B to manual)
