Hi.. I get some problem in manufaturing Dynamic Nav. I have scenario manufaturing for setup plant area in more than 2 location, for example i want to setup 3 location plant, every plant have different work calendar and working time :

Location 1 : working from monday to friday at 08.00AM - 04.00 PM (Normal Shift) and have 3 Machine/work center

Location 2: working from monday to friday at 08.00AM - 11.00 PM (long shift) and have 2 machine/work center

Location 3 : working from monday to saturday at 08.00AM - 04.00 PM (normal shift + 1 additional day) and have 5 machine/work center.

The problem is as far as i know navision must assign the routing to item card,

1 item card only have 1 routing.

1 routin have machine/work center,

1 machine/work center have shop calendar and impact to capacities of machine.

In my scenario I must setup more than  1 identic work center and routing.

When I create firm production order i must click refresh button, after click the refresh button system automatically show the schedule and breakdown the routing lines. because routing assign in the item card so i must change the routing first every time when i want do production in other location.

did any solution for handling my cases, wether problem if i change the routing and assign the machine center/work center in firm production order without click refresh button in firm production order form.

Your contribution are very usefull for me.

Regards,

    Hello Tom,

So the solution are create different item in every location, with different routing and different work center or do some modification.

I hope in the future Navision will handling the Production BOM / routing in SKU levels.

    Best Regards,

    Prima

    Hello Prima,

Thank you for posting on the MIcrosoft Forum.

The situation does create challenges in Dynamics NAV. The Stockkeeping Unit (SKU) Granule is designed to manage the Item configuration for mutliple Location and Variant Code breakout. However, the functionality of the Stockkeeping Unit does not include the ability to manage a Production BOM and Routing at the SKU level, which would be required to handle the scenario you present fully.  In base NAV, such setup would require the use of separate Item Cards for the same Item to manage a different Routing and Production BOM setup.  You would then possibly link the Items through the Item Substitutions Granule. Some additional modification may also be required to implement multiple Location Manufacturing to the extent you indicate.

I hope the infomration helps you move forward.

    Best Regards

    Tom
