By default the associated view displays only the related record. So if that contact is populated on the contact firld on the published article entity then it should be visible.
If this is not happening, can you post screenshot of the filter from your asscoaited view? Also check if you have morethan one contact field on the published article. I have seen cases where the firsl exists more than once and the data is only populated for one field.

Sorry for not being more descriptive. this is a custom entity. when i select Contact that the published article belongs to. it seems not to associate its self with the actual contact record. the view when in the contact is Published article status equals active. i cant make it say with an "and" rule contact equals current contact. as the "equals" field is Dynamic. or is there a function i.e. %%currentcontact

You need to share some more details as I don't think there is any Publish Article entity OOB.
If "Published Article" is your own custom entity then you need to got to Settings >> Customizations >> Entity >> Published Customization >> Views >> Publish Article Associated View. From here uyou need ti check the filter for this view.
