MS Dynamics CRM Online-Duplicate Competitor Removal

Hi In CRM Dynamics online, In competitor it is showing same competitor name 5 times as it added like that, I want to remove duplicate competitor, If I do same the competitor added in lost opportunity also gets deleted. Is there a way to resolve the same.

    So the competitor are entered twice with the same name but different business vertical, when we try to add competitor in Lost form it shows twice.

    So 1. I want that on competitor form it should show once instead of twice.

    Hi Poonam,

    Why don't you customize competitor lookup view to show the additional fields which will help you to identify correct competitor while closing it.

    Hi Poonam,

    You might need to do manually merging before proceed to delete the Competitor records. (As OOB Merge only available for Account, Contact & Lead entity).

    Steps:

    1. Find the original Competitor Name.
    2. Update Competitor lookup from child entity to point to the original/single Competitor.
    3. Manually deactivate unused records. Once verified all okey, proceed to delete that competitor record.

    On opportunity close entity, we cannot modify the competitor lookup field and even we can't deactivate the competitor, it only provided delete option

    We have already done the same, Its not helping as user is not able to use it as there are 200 users and its hard to let them know the same

    To Update opportunity, you would need to export & import the record. Pls follow below link.

    As for users, I did encounter such issue. I would suggest to update the guide book with more details. Or else, limit the permission to create competitor and only particular users have the access to create competitor record.

    Hi,

    We don't have much flexibility on the close opportunity dialog, unless we develop our own custom dialog using html or using other way.

    I am assuming when two records are created with different unique type, it means they are required according to business process (I may wrong here) so when I am saying to utilize additional field in lookup I mean to click on look up for more record option and select the lookup view, this is just an workaround if possible for you guys (I know it's not a good solution, but just an option)

    Another workaround option could be to update competitor and concatenate name field with addition field (which is different for identification, for example

    KTP | BU1

    HDT| BU2
