I am able to use the web based option out of the office but the Outlook addon just refuses to connect I get an error after inputting my credentials saying "Cannot connect to Microsoft Dynamics CRM server because we cannot authenticate your credentials. Check your connection or contact your administrator for mor help" the outlook addon works within my network but is greyed out when outside. Any assistance is greatly appreciated this is driving me mad!!! Thanks Chris

I presume you have CRM 2011 installed on premises?

Is your CRM2011 system configured for IFD?

If not, do you connect to the your office network via VPN?

If you don't connect to VPN and you don't have CRM 2011 set up for IFD, you'll not be able to authenticate yourself. CRM Outlook client with offline access should work though.

    Good morning,

Sorry yes CRM 2011 IFD configuration. I can connect using the web app and authenticate fine. Outlook however is causing some issues! I dont really want to have to use a VPN as we have outlook anywhere configured.

    Thanks, Chris

    Hi Chris,

When you connect to the web interface from Internet, do you get the login prompt from ADFS?

My guess the issue lies within the configuration of ADFS.

Type your user name and password.

    User name:    Example: Domain\username

    Password:

    Thanks, Chris

    Alex

I have tried this and to no avail :-(

Would you agree that the ADFS should be correctly configured with it allowing the web interface through?

    Thanks, Chris

Dear chris, the problem you are facing might be one of the critical issues of PST. You are using Outlook 2010, then you should clarify that whether you have been using the outlook and imported the PST files from the previous version of outlook application.

If it all depends on the PST then you take the help of Outlook 2007 repair which also work for Outlook 2010, hope this helps you.
