We were receiving this error when attempting to move the security related xpo project from one environment to another. We later realized that it was due to carriage return (<enter>) in the description of one of the privileges. We removed the carriage return (<enter>) and it just worked.

    I assume you don't have a question, but this post is for information purposes only?

    Thanks for this information. It might be helpful for others having a similar problem with xpo files.

    Note that in AX 2012 you can move objects between environments using models. I assume you know this already. Some people still prefer moving objects using xpo files. I only wonder if then also an error will occur if there is a carriage return in a description or label. Never tried it.

    We too faced similar problem, we had description field extended in two lines we made it in one line by creating label and it worked.
