Thank you so much for your guidance.
yes you are correct this is the place where we set the password to communicate with other nodes from CRM Application.
For that "exact" Service Account that is entered in the Application Pool Identity screen that you mentioned, is that the only place i would be changing the password for that exact service account ?..
I am praying you will say "YES" because that answers my whole problem... I would be able to just reset the password and change the new password... Done deal with Audit...
Eagerly awaiting for your reply @Goutam :)
You need to open IIS from the CRM application server ,expand server and select Application Pools . Find the CRMAppPool and select it . Now go to Advance Settings change the identity.
Hope below reference will guide you -

Thank you for replying the question. Any chance you can point me to the direction/documentation on where exactly i will need to change ? I appreciate any guidance if you can provide. Thank you!
You will need to update the password everywhere the account is used. For the main CRM Service Account, this is the identity of the CRM Application Pool on any servers that have any web roles (either web services or web application). For the other CRM service accounts (e.g. the Async Service account), you need to update the password used by the respective Windows Server
