ReportReport

Hi,

AX has standard salesInvoice SSRS report which I had customized in different model (let say: model1) two months back. Now I did some changes in same report ( i.e. change in field expression, change the size for text box) in different model( let say : Model2)..But when I saw model for SSRS report(AOT>SSRS Report >SalesInvoice) , it still exist in Model1.. Does my changes exist in Model2 or not?

please comment on this.

    Hi Visvash Walia,

One object could be changed in multiple models of the same package, so your changes could be in model 1 and 2 in the same time.

No, I have done some changes in report in model 2 but the report is showing all changes in Model1 (previously I had customized report in Model1) .. i need to deploy model2  into another enviroment to see the report changes  so before that i need to move report to Model2...confirm please?

    Just confirm one thing:

    1. 1 report is in model A in 1st environment .

    2.  same report is in model B in 2nd environment.

    3. what will happen when I install modelB in 1st environment ? does it replace report in ModelB after importing or firstly i have to delete report from ModelA and then import Model B?

Just delete it form that model, customization is not a way to go, you should be using extensions instead.

working on Ax 2012 R2 ...extension possible ??

Wow, its 2012. You cannot have one object in 2 models in the same layer, so you should get an error during import.

that's what i asking for..do i need to delete object from modelA and then import model B otherwise it will prompt error...right?

When you do this the import would fail unless you use the push option(Which will create a conflict model).

After import you would need to resolve the conflicts manually. The below link has the details
