Intermittently I keep getting runtime errors when I do debit. But when I do credit all day t the same pos will work fine. I dont understand why i would have this issue on RMS SP4 intermittently.
It does matter which POS I use I have about 10 stations. Anyone at any time will crash. I have verifone PINPAD 100se, windows XP with all the latest updates, and a windows 2003 server.
To be more specific is RUNTIME ERROR 5. I had Mircosoft take a look at it and they could not find the issue. I am getting these errors at least 2 to three times a day. Customer dilike very much to run their debit cards two times for one transaction.

Runtime error 5, references a invalid call to a function or procedure. Which means that some information was passed incorrectly. I would suspect the driver for the Verifone 1000SE.
Is the pinpad usb or serial. if usb make sure you ahve the lastest drivers from verifone. You could also try switching this to a serial port instead of a usb port. Serial ports have been around for 30 years and much more stable.
Also this could be a problem with the computer itself. I recommend a memroy test, check out http://www.memtest.org/. They have a free memory test software that is very thorough.
This also could mean the an addon is not functioning correctly.
