I have two User in system User 1 is Requester and User 2 is Approver for General Journal Line Approval Workflow. When User 1 (the Requester) wants to post he request for Approval to user 2 Approver.. And When user 2 (the Approver ) wants to do entry by it's self he want direct post the line instead of request for approval. But user 2 gets the error (The restriction was imposed because the line requires approval). How to fix this kindly help..

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

You can add a filter to the workflow(eg: Journal Batch,Created User) which you have enable for the General Journal Line.

Note: if you are going to filter the created user, then you have to customize the 81 table to store the Created user.

    Thanks.

    Hi Aslamjmk,

I think what happens is the following:

User 1 --> Request Approval for the Journal

Then, a Record Restriction is imposed

And an Approval Request is sent to User 2.

User 2 --> Tries to post by him/herself, BUT there is a Restricted Record active AND a pending Request to Approve on his/her side that needs to be approved/rejected to release the process

    POSSIBLE OPTIONS:

User 2 has two possibilities if he/she wants to post by him/herself the journal in the end:

    a) He/she needs to go an approve/reject the Request to Approve assigned to him/herself related to this journal, then the Record Restriction gets released and no error message will appear anymore.

    b) You can delete the specific Restricted Record created under Restricted Records page, but I think option a) is more clean.

    I hope it helps,
