User Defined fields on Line Item on Sales Order Transaction

Hi there

I'm working as a Dynamics CRM Consultant on a project for a new CRM implementation, where CRM needs to integrate with Dynamics GP (the company's running v2010 of GP - has plans to upgrade, but not soon).

My question is whether the Line Item on a Sales Order Entry (where the type is Invoice) can have a User Defined field defined.

If so, how would one go about doing that?

My apologies if my Dynamics GP 'speak' isn't quite correct.

Thanks in advance.

    Rean,

Could you elaborate a little more about what you are looking to accomplish? Out of the box I believe you can have about 4 lines of comments tied to a sales line item on a per transaction basis.

    Regards,

    Kirk

    Hi Kirk

Thanks for your response - here's a breakdown/summary that will hopefully make things a bit clearer:

    1. We have on premise Dynamics CRM 2015 and use some out-of-box features and also customized it.

    2. We have GP 2010 along with Web Services and eConnect

    3. We have a custom built Web app that allows customers to buy and provision our products

    4. We use the CRM SDK to create order and order lines (plus several other things) in CRM

    5. Then we use GP web service & eConnect to create batch and invoice in GP

    6. We need a mechanism in GP to have cross reference at each invoice line level which will be a unique identifier (GUID) and may be a text field about 500 char

    7. These new fields have to be accessible using GP Web service SOP Invoice creation procedure

Hopes this clarifies things a bit more.

    Thanks again.

You can use CMMTTEXT field in sales line items which having 500 character length or use note field for each sop line items.

    Hope this helps!!!
