A user cannot be removed from the Support User Role error

Hi!

I have a user in the CRM system what I used to administrate the whole system. I created Rules and Groups etc. Today I tried to remove myself from the admins (with an other admin user) to put the old user into an other Bussiness Unit. Every time I tried to save the changes it comes up with an error that says:

A user cannot be removed from the Support User Role. Error code: -2147220970

So I tried to set the owner of everything that I created with the old user to the new user, removed the old user from every security role (after that for some weird reason I was still able to login with the old account). But even after that it doesn't allow me to modify the old user Bussiness Group. I tried to Google out the problem and I found this: https://partnersupport.microsoft.com/en-us/par_msdyn/forum/par_dyn365p/top-issuehow-to-solve-the-issue-when-security-role/e82e0b52-d67f-4ace-a9b2-0a83bca184f9 but it is only for CRM on premise and I use the Online version.

Could this be the problem?

Thanks,

Robin

    Hi Robin,

From what i know the Support User is specific for CRM Online and is for internal usage only (msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328485.aspx).

If you have any errors related to it or the role, i think it's best if you reach out to MS Support directly.

    Hope this helps,

    Radu

Is this your own security role or an OOTB role?

Is the user account that you were logged in with a Global Admin (set in Office 365), or just a System Administrator?

It might be that your issue relies there if the user has set privileges via the Office 365 portal.

I would suggest contacting MS Support on this one if the above is not the case.
