.msg file type attachments via email being converted to .eml file type

When people send an email into Dynamics365 and it has a .msg file attachment, D365 seems to convert the file to an .eml file type before putting into into the attachments in D365.

Does this sound correct?

Are there any other file types that are converted in a sinilar way?
