Hello

We are Install Axapta 2012 and now we are convinced that the version must be Axapta 2012 R2 but would like to know if are risk or concerns to considering about this chose.

In the past the analysis phase was in mind Axapta 2012 but the question is are there any differences in the functionality that should be considered

Thanks

CE

There are tons of differences in functionality. Some added functionality and some modified functionality.

It is hard to answer this question without knowing more the areas of your implementation.

I think there is a white paper "New functionality in R2" and it can help you make the decision if the new functionality is valuable for you and will be worth the effort of the upgrade.

In addition, it is safe to assume R2 is better debugged with with fewer design flaws.

    Hi Carlos,

I agree with Zvika. The focus in R2 was namely on supporting more countries, Retail, Process manufacturing and HRM functionality. Maybe some more, but then I have to look back in some emails when we tested the beta version.

You can have a look at the new "Partitions" if this could be helpful or not.

I wrote a blog in the past for some financial differences between AX2012 and AX2012 R2:

If you want to upgrade in the future to next releases, the latest version (now AX2012 R2) will have better fit then.
