Hello:
We have a GP 2010 client in a Terminal Server environment. They do not want the "Print" dialogue box to appear, long story short.
We tried adding the "NoPrintDialogs=TRUE" line to the dex.ini file but no success. They still get the dialogue box.
Would setting up Named Printers eliminate this issue? I know that Named Printers has the checkbox in the Machine ID window, for not displaying the Print dialogue box.
But, would setting up Named Printers actually solve this immediate problem? I don't want to set up Named Printers, just for the sake of setting up Named Printers, if doing so is not going to solve this print dialogue issue altogether.
Thanks!
John

I have the same question (0)Hi
I am not an expert in this area, but have set up named printers for one of my clients.
Can you be more specific about the print dialogs that are appearing? There are three main areas in the application that I know that create print dialogs - posting and printing system reports (e.g trial balances) and then external reports (e.g. invoices, remittance advices).
Posting - have you turned off the posting reports or set them to go directly to the printer without asking?
Reports - reports can be set to go to printer, screen or file and can also have the option to "ask each time" turned off.
Named printers could then be used for the specific items you do want printed and where you want them to go.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Heather
