GP 2015 R2 Workflow error when user approve a document

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am running GP 2015 R2 workflow and got a new error after upgrade that was not there before R2!

The error appears when users approve a document even though the document get approved!

The error is:

"[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]A.NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "GetAssignedUsers". System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.Parameter name: UsersListGuidSystem.A

Any advice to solve this issue?

Found it...Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Tools >> Setup >> Company >> Workflow >> Workflow Maintenance.  Locate the module and select the approval workflow to be updated.  In the right side of the form is an area labeled Managers (not manager list as I was looking for).  Click the magnifying/looking glass and locate the active directory name of at least one manager and/or GP admin (now using the binoculars).  Click Add, click OK, click Save Type and then have your user(s) test.

"Populating the manager's list" - how does one navigate to this list please?

The profiler gave me the next result:

Could not load file or assembly 'System.DirectoryServices, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. Assembly in host store has a different signature than assembly in GAC. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131050) See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 949080 for more information. ---> System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.DirectoryServices, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. Assembly in host store has a different signature than assembly in GAC.

    Somebody can help me?

    Yes.

In workflow maintenance, you need to have a user in the managers list.

Yes, I did exit GP and restart SQL services. The problem is still there!

    Bill,

If you never had GP users defined for the BP TS & EE reports (which was not required, as the BP user was linked back to the Employee ID in GP), you will have to create them in GP and check the box for the 'Web Client User' only, so no SQL user gets created.

If you don't do that, the system will probably not be able to route the document to the proper person (though the question remains open if you use the GP Web Services and they reply directly by e-mail).
