Hi,

I found this official document for you: Create new users - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn, which provides an overview of the elements of role-based security in finance and operations. The concepts of privileges and permissions is also included.

This video explains the definition of all three you care about and how to set up security in your system: Training Session D365 F&O Security Roles and Permissions - Bing video.

This module also introduces security architecture, create new users, create a security policy, and other features.
