notification of product receipt

Is there a way to create a notification in D365 that will notify by email the originator of a Purchase order.. just telling them that their goods have arrived. Obviously the person raising and the person receipting are not the same.. just looking for a solution within D365 and not using power apps etc.

I have the same question (0)

Did you have a look at Alerts? Although, it will not have the ability to know the originator to notify.

Another option is to use the ER product receipt and configure the print management to send an email to the originator of the PO when the product receipt is posted. Just need to confirm if the data source is the originator information. Otherwise, it can be extended through ER.

    Another solution

Using Business Events, you can generate an event when a product receipt is posted.

Go to Power Automate and capture that business event

By Odata you can have PO Details and send a notification to a custom e-mail address

    Hi

The ER options looks better.. but how do we create the reference. When i went into our ER we had nothing labelled Purchase Order in the reference box

    Hi BB1983,

You will need to modify the Data model and add the purchase order header table. If you are new to ER, I'd recommend investing time in learning and investigating how it works.

Using business events, as described by Nuno above, to trigger a power automate flow is the easiest way to accomplish it. Is there any reason why do you want to avoid using the power platform?

    Thank you,

It the the preference of It not to use power platforms when we can do things internally within D365.
