AP Setup - Posting in Summary vs Posting in Detail

What is the difference if posting is setup to detail versus summary?  What additional information is posted to the GL in detail versus summary?

    Posting in Detail sends each AP transaction individually to the GL (assuming the GL account is also configured to post in detail).  This includes VendID, Transaction Description, Transaction Date, etc.

    Posting in Summary sends a summarization of each Acct/sub activity by batch over to the GL, and does not pass transaction details to the GL.
