Adding a PO number to a sales invoice after posting

We often need to add a PO number after an invoice has been posted as the customer needs it to be able to pay.  At one point there used to be a box in the middle of the invoice card where this could be done, but when some settings were changed this disappeared and we've been unable to get it back.  Also, when using the path Transactions/Sales/Edit Transaction Information we have been able to add a PO number, but it is not then visible on the transaction and doesn't appear on the reprinted invoice (but is still there when we go back in using the path above).

Can anyone make a suggestion as to what settings we need to change to get the box back?  Or what we need to do to get the PO number to appear on the invoice via the other route?

Many thanks

Sounds like you had a customization. You have customers that issue a PO that covers all of their purchases. You probably put that value in a user defined field and renamed it PO Number. You will need to make the same modification plus another modification to the sales order inquiry screen to allow acces to the PO number. This would not require coding just Modifier to allow access to the PO number on Sales Order Inquiry plus AR Setup to asssign the user defined field. Let me know if you need additional help with this.

Thank you for your help.  Once I knew this was the case we were able to get the customisation switched back on quite quickly.

Still not sure why the standard functionality (Transactions/Sales/Edit Transaction information wasn't working however!

I have a happy AR team which is the main thing!
