GP2013 Receivables Transaction Entry "Browsing Buttons"

Posted on by 805

Dear All,

I faced a strange issue after upgrading to GP2013 R2 in the Receivables Transaction Entry "Browsing Buttons" as when I try to browse the records every time I press the next record button or previous record button it skip one record as the following example:

if now I am opening the transaction # 001 and I press the Next Record Button it goes to transaction # 003 if I press the Next Record Button again it goes to transaction # 005.

I installed another GP2013 R2 instance in another environment I found the same issue.

kindly update me if any off you faced this issue or can help me regarding it.

Thanks...

    Hi Mahmoud,

I have had a response from Microsoft regarding the "browsing buttons" skipping.

In order to correct the issue you will need to disable the Scheduled Instalments  module the skipping of browsing buttons will stop.

To do this log into GP and go to Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Tools >> Customisation >> Customisation status and disable the Scheduled Instalments module.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mahmoud,

I have done some extensive testing in trying to resolve this issue.

    For Dynamics GP2013 SP2 and GP2013 R2

I have been testing on a clients development environment and a stand alone workstation with just the sample company installation.  I have been able to replicate the issue on the clients Production and Development/Test environments and the standalone installation. I have identified the problem, but as yet am unable to resolve - I will log a support call with Microsoft tomorrow.

The issue is the database server you are using.  I found that this problem occurs with SQL Server 2008, it doesn't matter what service pack you are using, whether RTM, SP3 or SP4 (I did not test SP1 or SP2).  SP3 is on the customers site and SP4 was an installation on a "hope and a prayer".

Once SQL Server 2012 was used as the database of choice the problem did not occur.

I will update the forum once I have a response from Microsoft.

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Unfortunately I couldn't solve this issue.

I think it would be better to open a case with Microsoft about this issue.

    Thank You.

    Hi Mahmoud,

I am facing the same issue after upgrading to Dynamics GP2013 version (12.00.1482)  Running on SQL2008 RTM (10.00.1600.22).

Were you able to identify the problem?

    Thanks

    I will check DexSQL.log again.

When I pull SALES0000000001002 no errors found

This happens in lesson data and other companies and this happens only at Receivables Trx Entry window

    Thank.

    Thank you for your reply.

I didn't post any of my transactions so all of them can be edited using this screen.

Just a notion, but when a document has been posted, it cannot be edited in the entry window any longer and would  be skipped, when browsing.  Have you checked the status of the document(s)?

It's worth a try. You can do it within GP. Back up the database first, and then do this (from the GP documentation):

SQL Server and SQL Server Express uses statistics about key values to select which index or indexes to use to process queries. If there is a significant change in the key values in an index, you should update statistics for that index. You should also update statistics if a great deal of data in an indexed column has been added, changed, or removed.

A system administrator can update statistics if there are performance issues.

    To update statistics:

    Open the SQL Maintenance window.

(Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Maintenance >> SQL)

Select a database and at least one table, and mark the Update Statistics option.

    Choose Process.
