Hi All,
Im pretty familiar with ADXstudio on prem solution, so migration with on prem adx(v7) not a problem, just installed CRM Portal ..
Need to know (well i have an idea but need to confirm from you all) how migration between Dev to Test would work with CRM Portal in Dynamics CRM online?
Will importing the solution (to environment B) be enough to populate the target CRM portal environment with all the information from environment A ?

Have you got any response on this from Microsoft. We are facing same issue for CRM Portal 8.2 migration from one CRM 2016 online to another.

Hi Teddy, for a portal you need to migrate not just the solutions but also the portal data which will not be included in the solution. You could look at a number of options to move this data. The old websitecopy from v7 is not supported with v8, you could look to the SDK Package Deployer or the ADXStudio ALM free product. I am not entirely sure if this process with either tool is working let alone supported though, you would be more likely to get support via Microsoft if you were to use the SDK Package Deployer since the ALM product has been end of life'd.
The issue you may run into with this is I believe is an outstanding bug. Your process might be this, you provision dev with portal add-on, you provision prod with portal add-on. You make all your changes in dev and export dev solutions and portal data with package deployer, leave the existing data on prod or delete it, import dev portal to prod, but the portal web app won't work with the new web site for an unknown reason.
It might be fixed now though, so worth giving it a try and see if it does now work. As much as I like ALM, if you want to try to be supported in this scenario you will want to use the SDK Package Deployer.
