Hi,
Greetings!
Is there a standard D365FO provision to have a column allowing to attach documents per row
with document number count?
Regards,
Abhinay
Not sure if we understand your question. On a sales order, say you have 2 lines. you have attached documents on 1st line (5 notes/attachments) and 2nd line has none. When you select line 1, the attachment icon shows 5. when you select 2nd, it shows 0.
If this doesn't help, please elaborate on your question.
What you are asking is available in standard , this was released in PU 11.
Here is paragraph from standard documentation.
The Attach button on top right show a count of attachments for the currently selected record, so the user can see whether there are attachments on the current record without opening that form. The count will show 0-9, and then 9+ to limit the performance impact and visual noise of determining and showing larger counts.
Hi Satish,
Thank you for your reply and suggestion.
This is the standard functionality.
I want to add a column to a grid (let's say Sales Line table's grid).
A user would click on the column for line no.1 and a dialog box would pop-up to attach a document,
otherwise the column would show the attachment numbers (from your example for line 1 - 5 and second line 0)
'in the same column and not on the icon.'
Hi Sukrut,
Please refer to my earlier reply to Satish's.
There's no standard functionality that would do that.
Thank you Nikolaos!
Hi Abhinay,
You need to develop such column yourself. Note that it might cause performance issues when it will load a form with a lot of records as it needs to count per line.
Hi André,
Yes, I agree with you. But the client wants what the client wants and sometimes they can't be convinced...
This is exactly one of those requirements. The user should not have to traverse through all the records to ensure the records are updated with the correct number of attachments before proceeding with the next step.
I was concerned about the performance and wanted to check if something like that already existed.
