Hi,

Just want to ask if there is an option in D365 not to post transfer order or transfer journal transactions in general ledger?

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

If you're looking for a specific option that says "do not post" then no, there is no such thing. On a transfer journal, you can prepare it and then not post it, although not sure why you would. On a transfer order, posting occurs in several places, such as the picking list and registration, shipping, and then when receiving. You can prepare the order and then not do anything with it if you have value in doing it that way. May I ask why you would not post either transaction?

    Hi marypeace,

can you please share some details why you dont want to post the financial impact, What exactly you have to achieve with this requirement so that we can help you out?

    Hi Howard and Junaid,

I'm just asking because when I'm checking the what's new in D365, I read that feature that you have the option not to post the transfer order transaction in general ledger.

When I check the transfer order, I cannot see that option.

I cannot search anymore the documentation for that.

If there is none, it's ok for me because there is no requirement as of the moment not to post transfer order in GL.

Thank you very much for your replies.

    Hello Marypeace,

There is no option to prevent posting to GL.

    Regards

    Hi marypeace,

There is no such option to prevent posting to GL but one possible work around could be you can use same ledger account on Debit and Credit side so evetually net impact will be zero.

If you place transfer orders between the same site, transfer orders will not post any transactions in the GL.

If you place transfer orders between sites, a transaction will be posted using the inter-unit accounts you set in your item group.
