Hi guys,

When we enable table's property created and modified date time of an existing table, with already exists data in it, the new columns will be populated with the date and time its enabled. Can we prevent this ? I mean can we make "not" fill in these date time ? so only the new records will have the information ?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi VoltesDev,

Are you saying that created and modified date for existing record is populated with the some vales after enabling it.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

    Hi Girish,

Yes, that's what I experience now. Is it the correct behavior ?

I am not sure with this - Basically if you enable create and modified date time - I guess it wont update for existing records.

I guess it will populate all the existing records with today date time. I don't think there is any other way to restrict this. This is the default behavior as it is considering the date time when it was enabled for existing records.

Can you confirm that the value showing in modified and created by column for existing record is correct or not?

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

    What values is it showing?

Is this showing today date for both modified and created by column for existing records? Or actual date and time it was created and modified by?

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

    Hi Girish,

Showing the date and time it was enabled. Which is in my case is today's date and time.

    Thanks

I think this is the default behavior - It will set the time when it was enabled. Form my understanding I don't think there is any other way to restrict. As per the system if you enable created or modified by - Values for existing record will be either min date - max date - today date.

So its considering date when it was enabled.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

    Hi Girish,

Noted. I just feel a bit strange of this behavior. For an existing data, which may be created years ago, then because I just enable it today, then the CreatedDate became today's date. Unfornately, in this table I don't have other date to make the "newly" column CreatedDate updated accordingly.

However thanks again for your input.
