Contact and Address Issues/Implementation

Hi,

I am getting issues when updating Country old data of state is seen for new country updated.

There is a plugin contact update , where on change of country, country is getting updated but state data is old.

eg Initially US is country and state is WI from optionset value and if I change to Japan, Japan will get updated and state will be WI only.

how to resolve and what is the best practice of contact and address implementation.

    This is one of the most common complaints about MS CRM.  It is almost universal, but MS refuses to change it.  Haven't come across a single customer yet (nor colleagues I've talked to) that doesn't want this changed to controlled (preferably cascaded as the OP alludes to) data values.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

    Out-of-the-box there is no feature to automatically set State/Country dependency.

    These text fields and users are free to update any value in these.

    In your scenario, seems like Address fields are customized.

    You need to fix the plugin to meet your requirements.

    When it comes to best practices, Microsoft has created Address fields as Open Text so customers can use these the way they need to.
