GP 18.7 compatibility with SQL Server 2016

Hi all,
 
I was reading through the system specs for GP 18.7 and it appears MS dropped support for SQL 2016 with GP 18.7?  I was planning to install 18.7 YE next weekend but was not aware of them dropping support for SQL 2016. It looks like they only added a few new fields between GP18.6 and 18.7.  Has anyone upgraded to 18.7 on SQL 2016 and if so, have you encountered any issues. Thanks!
