PSA changes auto-resource leveling to manual when project plan is published

My project plan has all resource tasks set to auto-leveling in MS-Project. I now connect to PSA and publish this project to PSA using the PSA plugin and unlink it. MS-Project is closed.

Re-open MS-Project and connect to my PSA instance. Read the project that I just published. When the linked project opens in MS-Project, I see that all the tasks are marked as manual and some of the hours are also adjusted. I had a resource booked for a whole 40 hour-week, but now that same task doesn't show a 40-hour week on that resource.

My question - Why is PSA changing my main project plan? What do I hold as the single point of truth?
