Check Date and Delimiter on Check Layout Setup

Any inputs  on why date and date delimiter is delimited on Check Layout Setup..?

Fields: Check date format ; Check date separator

Navigation: USMF/Cash and bank management/Common/Bank accounts --> Select a bank account-->setup-->Check -->under general Tab..

Should we just enable it by going to AOT or is there any configuration controlling these fields..?
