Running On hand Inventory

Posted on by 5

Is there a way to run a perpetual inventory in AX?

We would like to be able to research inventory variances by part number looking at swings in inventory.

The Inventory Transaction List shows the activity, but does not give a running total.  Can anyone point us in the right direction?

This is a customisation we have done previously for customers.

    Hello ddickinson44,

Can you explain what you mean exactly by saying 'to run a perpetual inventory' and what you try to achieve?

A simplified example might help here.

If you want to identify variances or differences in inventory by item number then you can possibly make use of an item financial dimension.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

You are looking for a historical on-hand report?  I'm not sure if it is available in AX3 but try:

Inventory > Reports > Inventory by item group aging

    Hi Ddickinson44,

Can you elaborate with examples or a kind of mockup?
