Creating a journey from data in a SQL database

Hi All,

Getting started with D365 customer insights Journey , I am trying to create a flow that sends an email to customers who recently made a purchase from us. But I am running into the following problems.
To be more accurate:

- Data is available in a SQL database which is connected to the environment.
- This database contains all the sales lines (an order could exist from multiple lines)
- Customer data of this orders is also stored in this SQL table.

Do you guys have any idea how i could start? First unify the customers and create a trigger with PowerAutomate or...?

Providing steps or any link will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,
Sven

    Step-by-step:
    1. Unify Customer Data in Customer Insights
      • Connect your SQL database to Customer Insights as a data source.
      • Set up data ingestion and mapping to unify customer records (e.g., by Customer ID or email).
      • Ensure unified customer profiles include purchase history fields or flags (e.g., last purchase date).
    2. Create a Segment for Recent Purchasers
      • In Customer Insights, build a segment that filters customers who made a purchase recently (using purchase date from SQL data).
      • This segment dynamically updates as data refreshes.
    3. Set up a Journey in Customer Insights
      • Create a Real-time Marketing Journey triggered by customers entering the “Recent Purchasers” segment.
      • Add an email activity in the journey to send your marketing email.
    4. Optional: Use Power Automate
      • If you want to trigger based on SQL data updates directly, create a Power Automate flow triggered by new SQL rows or changes.
      • The flow can add/update customers in Customer Insights or trigger journeys via APIs.
