Error in VAT settlement batch job - why does system blocks the user

Hi all,

When I run the Settle and post sales tax for a Sales tax settlement period, sometimes system throwing an error like "Settlement period is blocked for User". Does anybody know the reason for this error?

It is not only for me, but for other users as well.

    Hi,

    Please check your settlement period setup.

    There is a blocking functionality available there and to me it sounds as this setting causes the issue.

    Yes Ludwig, When I run the VAT settlement, my user id appears in the Sales tax settlement periods form that this process is blocked. And this is not always when I run this. If I remove my user id from there and run it again it completes process.

    My question is why is it blocking if I run this settlement process?

    Hi,

    Can't you leave the "blocked for settlement process by" field blank in the sales tax settlement period form?

    Did you setup blank or did you fill a user there?

    Hi,

    Click on the Sales Tax and in the Period Intervals, you can see if the user is blocked in the Settlement period.

    Go to Tax > Indirect Tax > Sale Tax > Sales tax settlement periods.

    Select the period where you are experiencing the issue, click edit to remove the user ID from ‘’Blocked for settlement process by’’ and SAVE.

    I removed and rerun the process. But why was my user id was blocked for the settlement period automatically?

    This was my user id and I have the System admin role.

    Hi Polisetti Sathish Kumar,

    This is a standard proactive mechanism to make sure the same person does not run Settelemtn for the same period twice.

    And you can also select users in this form to make sure they won't run Settelemtn even they have normal security rights.
