I have recently installed new D365 Expense Management App having OCR functionality. I tried doing a little testing, I can take pictures of receipts, it shows me the list of unattached receipts too. But once I attach any receipt and create a report in the app, the report doesn't show itself in the list in the App. Even though it is indeed created, because I am able to see that in D365 F&O.

This can be a bug in the new app. I would suggest creating a ticket for Microsoft Support. You can first check in LCS issue search if there is a known issue.
