The apps icon in Dynamics, when clicked on it opens in a new tab

Hello,

When in a Dynamics 365 org, and I go and click on the Apps icon (referring to the 9 dots in the left upper corner), where, when clicked, it would show your more apps to select. Now, when clicked on it, opens up a new tab and shows you the apps. Is this something new? I would like it not to open a new window when the 9 dots are just clicked.

Please advise, thank you.

Hi USA80,

Yes, it is something new in the new version, and you can't make it like the old version?

The Apps icon referring to the 9 dots in the left upper corner you mentioned above is app launcher icon.

The app launcher is built in to all Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 apps.

Now, the app launcher in new version makes opening new tab and navigating to office page directly when clicking it. So it can’t show applications like the old version in dynamics page, which is by-design.

But it can show more apps when you click app launcher icon in office page.
