Data Upgradation from Dynamics NAV (v10) 2017 to any latest version of D365 Business Central

Hello Experts,

Hope you're all doing good. I need to upgrade the data from Nav (v:10) 2017 to the latest version of Business Central. Different customized fields are also added there in different tables in NAV 2017. So before data upgradation I'll have to add these customized fields into Business Central via table extensions.

Is it necessary to first upgrade data from Nav (v:10) 2017 to Business Central (v:14) 2019? Or can we directly upgrade data
from Nav 2017 to any latest version of the Business Central?

I read the Microsoft documentations but couldn't find out the much explanation. Can anyone please help me in this scenario or can anyone please suggest me the blogs/posts for authentic and step by step explanation of the data upgradation from NAV 2017 to any latest version of the Business Central?

Answers will be highly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

    Hi,

In the latest version Business Central all customization done via extensions.

So pls follow the below steps.

    1. Take SQL Backup of Older Version.

    2. Merge Customization in latest Version via extensions

    3. Migrate Data form older version to New Version.

    Hi,

Yes, it will be necessary to upgrade to BC 14.x first and then upgrade to the latest version afterwards. See the "Upgrade Path" information here for more details: Upgrade to Business Central 2022 Wave 1 - Business Central | Microsoft Docs

Can you please tell me if do I've to delete all the objects except tables from Customized Nav 2017 or from Business central 2019 development environment? Please see step 4, https://www.sauravdhyani.com/2018/10/msdyn365bc-data-upgrade-to-microsoft.html

Are these customized navision objects like pages, reports etc that we'll import into new business central 2019 dev environment?

    Delete in NAV2017.

You have to import FOB file with table customizations and remaining standard objects.

    Hi,

Pls take only Custom objects and same update in the BC D365 Database with help of tool that Microsoft provide.

Then make extension of remaining Objects. For example if Sales Header changed then make extension of Sales Header and so on. But this will do manually.
