Transfer gift card balance to the new gift card

Hi,

any idea for this scenario:
The customer has already partially used his gift card and now the balance is $100. Customer loses  the gift card and asks the company to deactivate the old card and issue a new card for the unused balance.
How can do this?

    Hi Galia,

    Looks like you need a customization to support such scenario.
    Possible way to implement can be:
    1) Enable RU gift card 'Policies' functionalilty for your country;
    2) Do AX customization to make possible gift card expiry date modification;
    3) When customer loses the card, AX worker will need
        a) validate card balance;
        b) change expiration date for lost card and close the card;

    After above steps POS worker should issue a new card with remain balance.

    Çan you please give me more info about this Russian function

         AX-->Reatil-->Periodic-->Close expired gift cards

    What I should expect this function do? I found no info in the net.

    Hi Galia,

    This function will:

    1) Change card status to 'Closed';

    2) Create card transaction with amount = 'remain card balance' and operation = 'Close';

    3) Create and post gift card closing journal.

    This function is executed by class RetailGiftCardClosing_Standard, so you can ask your developers to check functionality in details.
