Item Qty mismatch in Sales and Inventory transactions

Posted on by 65

I have a situation similar to one as below where the item quantity is mismatched, similar to one explained in the below link, but its AX2012 R3 for me.

    Hi Chetan,

Entries once posted can't be changed. your only option would be reverse these out but the reversal will happen in current period as FY2017-2018 is already closed. You need to play with purchase order quantity and inventory quantity during invoicing. Try this in non-production environment first.

Thanks for taking time and reply.

The issue wasn't replicated in UAT environment. The above entries persist for FY-2017-2018 which is closed.

Can these entries be modified to have correct inventory impact?

What if stock adjustment entries are created as of 01-Apr-2018 to reduce the quantity for the difference? What should be the impact?

    Hi Chetan,

Most likely the problem is that someone modified the quantities during the process. Try creating a new items, exact same transaction and see if you can replicate it. If yes and there are no customization, open MS ticket/search LCS.

If you can't replicate, probability is that someone updated inventory / qty field and it created this issue.
