Updating Sales Order Delivery Date Based on Manufacturing

Posted on by 3,482

Hi:

An end user enters a Sales Order Delivery Date and automatically creates a Production Order in "Planning" from this Sales Order.

Those in the manufacturing department determine that this finished good is not going to be ready by the original Sales Order's Due Date.

How, within Business Central, would those in manufacturing communicate to that person in sales that the Delivery Date in the Sales Order needs to be changed?

Thanks!

John

RE: Updating Sales Order Delivery Date Based on Manufacturing

Hi, I think the easiest way is to let the manufacturing department directly modify the Delivery Date on the Sales Order, but maybe different departments do not have this permission.

I think you can consider the process outside the system, or make a simple customization to do it.

Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.

    Thanks.
