Microsoft Dynamics CRM App cannot log in

I was using the CRM Dynamics Windows 8 App last week.  However, starting on Monday, I was no longer able to log in.

I get the error:
"Sorry, something went wrong while initializing the app.  Please try again, or restart the app."
I've already checked out here for possible fixes.  The 3 possible causes do not apply to my issue.

Cause 1: the user is the admin user and is not part of a child business unit.

Cause 2: It suggests that future attempts will work.  This hasn't happened.

Cause 3: This is a new CRM 2013 Online environment.

It only occurs in this CRM Online environment since I can successfully log in to another one.  Uninstalling and resinstalling does not resolve the issue.

Possibly enabling tracing would help, but I'm curious if trace enabling works if it's CRM Online?  I'm unable to enable trace setting through Windows PowerShell, specifically trying to register the cmdlets using "Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Crm.Powershell"

The first thing I think you should check is check the security roles for your user.

have any security roles been removed

have you been removed from any teams (which also have security roles)

has your user been moved business unit

Has a rollup been applied to CRM online?

    Hi harihar,

No, no updates were made on the device.  My coworker, on all his devices as well, have the same issue.

We are able to login without issue for other organizations.

Hi Hosk, (I think I might've click flag as spam somehow...)

The only security role for my user is System Administrator and is on the only existing team.  It is also in the root business unit.

I do not believe that a rollup has been applied to CRM online within the last week.

I am able to login to another CRM online environment with not issue.

Hi, did you end up getting a resolution for this? I am having the same problem.

    Not really...

I paused on it for a week to work on something else and then it "magically" worked again.  As far as I know, nothing changed.

    Hi zabby,

As Ben mentioned is important to review the Security Roles that you assigned to the user that has this incident. Recently I had the same issue using an Ipad with CRM ONLINE 2015 so I recommend you to check these Security Roles:

    + Resolution 1

-Go to the organization of CRM ONLINE

         -Settings> Security> Users> Lucero Reyes> Commando [...]> Managing Roles.

Once you open this window move to a Management User Roles> Select Role of Security and assign this privilege belongs

    Entity: Field

    Read: Field

    + Resolution 2

-Assign the privilege of reading within Entity Potential Clients

-Assign the privilege of reading within Entity Opportunities.

    Resource:

    + Retrieve Privileges msdn.microsoft.com/.../bb928057.aspx

    + Customization Privileges msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc150732.aspx

+ Security role mapping UI privilege to msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh547441.aspx

    Hi,

I am logging in with Sys Admin role but still having the same error.

    when I get to step

    3/5 – Processing Metadata

    Then 4/5 - Downloading customizations

At this point Dynamics eventually shows the error.

    Hi,

    did anyone solve the problem?

We've  got the same problem, this error ist really confusing.

Were using Windows 10 phones and desktops.

Some users are getting the error only on some devices and on other devices it's working properly for the same user.

For example: user "a" can't start the app on a windows 10 phone whereas on a windows 8 phone it's working properly, or even on an other windows 10 phone or desktop.

Another example: Even if we are using the same device, in some cases user "a" can start the app and user "b" can't.

They both have the same privileges in CRM online.

The error is always the same.

The error always appears on Step 4 of 5 - "downloading customizations".

    Edit:

On the android app it is possible to activate the protocol.

I ended up with the same error on the android app.

Here is what I get in the protocol:

1461666739066, 27138, 1, E, Logger, LogWithLevel, 16, "Error Message:Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Element 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays:anyType' contains data from a type that maps to the name 'Microsoft.Crm.Platform:ComponentState'. The deserializer has no knowledge of any type that maps to this name. Consider changing the implementation of the ResolveName method on your DataContractResolver to return a non-null value for name 'ComponentState' and namespace 'Microsoft.Crm.Platform'.

1461666739276, 27138, 1, E, Logger, LogWithLevel, 16, "Error occured during complete refresh of Application/Entity/Attribute metadata. Error Message:Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Element 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays:anyType' contains data from a type that maps to the name 'Microsoft.Crm.Platform:ComponentState'. The deserializer has no knowledge of any type that maps to this name. Consider changing the implementation of the ResolveName method on your DataContractResolver to return a non-null value for name 'ComponentState' and namespace 'Microsoft.Crm.Platform'.

any ideas or any help is appreciated.

    best regards

    Dirk
