Use existing forms or create a new one with "save as"

Hello,

We are implementing Dynamics CRM, and I was wondering if there are any negative sides of using existing forms provided by MS solution and modifying them in I way we need, or is it better to use "save as" and have a form that is completely customized for our organization. Does it even matter? Just curious if any update could impact the form if we customize it but it's a microsoft form

I have the same question (0)

    Hi CEklx,

If you subsequently have a lot of custom actions on the form, copying a new form from original form with ‘save as’ is better.

This has the obvious advantage that a large number of custom operations may cause errors, so you can compare the original form with the custom form to determine which components are custom, making it easier to resolve errors.

Or you can use the original form to create another new custom form without unnecessary custom components if required.

So, creating a new form is a better option for no great reason, and may just reduce your unnecessary worries later

Note: if you create new forms for one entity, you need add them in app designer if you want to view them in the app page.

select one app you need and click 'open in app designer'.

Find the entity and ensure new form you created has been checked, then save and publish it.

Now, you can view and use the new created form in the entity.
